You leave fingerprints everywhere

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make. ~ Jane Goodall

Most people imagine that changing the world requires something extraordinary.

Starting a charity.

Inventing something remarkable.

Standing on a stage and inspiring millions of people.

The truth is more simple.

And far more beautiful…

You are already changing the world.

Every single day.

You change it when you walk into a room.

You change it when you encourage a friend who’s having a difficult week.

You change it when you smile at a stranger.

You change it when you choose not to lose your temper.

You change it when you choose kindness over convenience.

You cannot opt out of having an impact on the world.

That decision has already been made for you.

The only choice you have is what kind of impact you will leave behind.

The thing is most people spend their lives waiting to become important enough to matter.

You mattered the moment you arrived here.

The child who still remembers the teacher who believed in them.

The stranger who still thinks about the compliment they received ten years ago.

The friend who was saved by a single phone call on a difficult day.

We carry one another’s words and actions for far longer than we realize.

Sometimes for an entire lifetime.

Which brings us to today’s lesson.

Live as though every interaction matters.

Because it does.

Be the person who makes others feel seen.

The person who improves the lives of those around them.

You do not need millions of people to remember your name for your life to have mattered.

If you make one person laugh today…

Encourage one person to pursue their dreams…

Help one person feel less alone…

Then today was a good day.

One day, when your life is over, almost everything you owned will be gone.

But the kindness you gave will continue to ripple through the lives of other people in ways you will never fully understand.

You leave fingerprints on the world whether you mean to or not.

You can choose to make them beautiful.
