Stop for a moment.
Look around you.
Notice the light in the room.
The sounds you had stopped noticing.
The feeling of the air as you breathe in.
This moment is your life.
Not a rehearsal for it.
Not the bit before something more important happens.
This.
Right now.
Your life is not waiting somewhere in the future.
It is already here.
In this breath.
This room.
This ordinary day.
Which brings us to today’s lesson.
Be here for your life.
When you walk outside, notice the breeze on your face.
Feel it.
Look up at the sky.
Pay attention to the small details.
Listen to the birds, the traffic, the wind, the soundtrack of an ordinary day.
You do not need to turn every moment into a photograph.
You only need to stop missing the moments you are already in.
Give your time to this moment.
Give it to the people you care about.
To laughter.
To dreams.
And occasionally, in the middle of an entirely ordinary day, remind yourself:
I’m here.
I’m alive.
Feel your breath.
Look around.
Your life is not somewhere else.
It is this breath, this room, this ordinary moment.
Be here for it.
