Best for: Kids aged 6+ (amazing for building confidence, wisdom, and communication)

Activity Description:

Kids become the teacher and create their own mini school, club, or workshop to teach others something they know or love—real or made-up! It’s a fun blend of learning, creativity, leadership, and humor, encouraging deep thinking and clear communication.

1. Choose the “Subject”

Ask:

  • “What do you know a lot about?”
  • “What’s something fun you’d love to teach others?”
    Ideas include:
  • Drawing dragons
  • How to make paper airplanes
  • Dinosaur facts
  • Secret agent training
  • Baking basics
  • Inventing new words
  • How to be a better friend

2. Create the Classroom or Club Setup

  • Use stuffed animals, toys, or real family members as “students”
  • Set up chairs, write a sign (“Welcome to The School of Sloths!”), and prep a whiteboard or poster
  • Create a lesson plan:
    • What will you teach?
    • What materials do you need?
    • What fun challenge or test will the students do?

3. Run the Lesson

  • Use a whiteboard, flashcards, or drawings to explain
  • Ask the students questions
  • Lead a short game or challenge to help “learn” the topic
  • Give out fun certificates at the end:
    • “Official Expert in Pirate Whistles”
    • “Master of Jungle Survival Level 1”

4. Reflect and Celebrate

Ask your child:

  • “What was the best part about being the teacher?”
  • “Was it harder or easier than you thought?”
  • “What do you want to teach next time?”

5. Keep It Going

  • Make a “Teacher’s Logbook” to write down lesson ideas
  • Let them run weekly workshops for the family
  • Swap roles: have a sibling or parent run a lesson too!

Bonus Tip:

Encourage kids to teach a virtue, like honesty or kindness, through a story or skit in their lesson.

This fun role-play activity strengthens self-expression, leadership, empathy, and creativity—while letting kids feel proud of what they know. Type n when you’re ready for the next idea!
