Perfect for: Indoors at the table, bedtime reflection, or quiet outdoor moments

Best for: Kids aged 6+ (great for building thinking, empathy, and emotional maturity)

Activity Description:

Create a Wisdom Jar filled with thoughtful, sometimes funny, and often deep questions. Each day, kids draw one, think about it, and talk or write about their answers. It’s a fun, simple way to grow self-awareness, critical thinking, and life wisdom—with just a few minutes a day.

1. Set Up the Wisdom Jar

  • Use a clean jar, cup, or box
  • Cut slips of paper and write one question on each
  • Decorate it with a label like:
    • “Jar of Big Thoughts”
    • “Thinker’s Treasure Jar”
    • “The Wise Mind Game”

2. Example Questions to Include

Start with a mix of playful and profound:

  • “What does being brave mean to you?”
  • “If you could teach one lesson to the world, what would it be?”
  • “When do you feel most proud of yourself?”
  • “Is it ever okay to break a rule?”
  • “What does a good friend do that a normal friend doesn’t?”
  • “Would you rather be kind or clever?”
  • “If someone was being left out, what would a wise hero do?”

Let kids write and add their own questions too!

3. Make It a Ritual

  • Draw a question during breakfast, dinner, or bedtime
  • Take turns answering and listening
  • Encourage full, honest answers—there are no wrong ones

4. Record or Reflect

  • Use a Wisdom Notebook to jot down favorite answers
  • Let kids illustrate their thoughts
  • End each session by asking: “What did we learn about ourselves today?”

5. Add a Weekly Bonus Challenge

Turn some questions into actions:

  • “Do something wise today that your future self would thank you for”
  • “Choose someone to lift up with your words”
  • “Be the best listener in the house for one whole hour”

Bonus Tip:

Keep a running list of “Most Thoughtful Answers of the Month” and celebrate growth in thinking and character.

This activity helps kids become wiser, more thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent—all through the magic of asking and listening. Type n when you’re ready for the next great idea!
