Life gives us endless ways to measure our worth.
Money.
Job titles.
The size of your house.
The car on the driveway.
But there is only one that matters:
Did you do your best?
Did you keep your word?
Did you do your best work?
Did you treat people with respect and kindness?
Because you can’t do more than your best.
So let go of everything else.
Other people’s scorecards are meaningless.
What matters is that you used the gifts you were given.
That you had the courage to become who you could have become.
The truth is, you will never do everything perfectly.
You will say the wrong thing.
Make bad decisions.
Disappoint people.
Be disappointed yourself.
But perfection was never the goal.
Integrity was.
Which brings us to today’s lesson.
Live in such a way that, when your head finally rests on the pillow each night, you can tell yourself:
“I gave today everything I had.”
Some days your best will look extraordinary.
Some days your best will simply be getting out of bed.
Both count.
At the end of your life, you will not be haunted by your failures.
You will be haunted by the moments you knew you could have given more…
Loved more…
Risked more…
Lived more.
When you had your one chance at being alive…
Did you have the courage to become the best version of yourself?
So when you look in the mirror tomorrow morning…
Make a promise.
Give today everything you’ve got.
You cannot always control the outcome.
But you can always control the effort.
