It’s true that there are things to complain about.
Bad news. Traffic. Politics. Monday.
But there is something much more important.
Something we should never have forgotten…
Thousands of people went to sleep last night believing they would wake up this morning.
They didn’t.
You did.
Someone expected to hug their child again.
Someone expected to say, “I’ll do it tomorrow.”
But tomorrow never arrived.
Yet somehow…
It arrived for you.
You still have the chance to make the most of today.
You still have another chance to become kinder.
Braver.
To begin again.
To notice the beauty that has been waiting for your attention.
Which brings us to today’s lesson.
Today is a miracle that you have been given.
Millions of people are not so lucky.
Millions of people would give anything to wake up in your shoes.
Do not treat today as something you are entitled to.
Treat it as something you have been entrusted with.
Laugh more than you planned to.
Be slower to anger.
Quicker to forgive.
Because one day, there really will be no more tomorrows.
Until then…
Wake up each day with the amazement that, for reasons beyond your understanding, life has handed you one more ordinary day.
And if you live each ordinary day like that…
You may discover something.
You have filled your life with extroardinary days.
